Kaneshin Bonsai Tools

fourteener;191490As far as wire cutters go said:
That is exactly what I used to say as well, BEFORE I started using large copper wire. I've been struggling with getting that wire off, and some I had to leave (for now) so as not to damage anything. So I'm actually looking for a pair now, if anyone has a spare pair I'm looking...

I just ordered wire cutters and knob cutters from Kaneshin and they are fantastic. The shipping from Japan, again, was less than some domestic shippers charge and I ordered Sunday, tools arrived Thursday.

I highly recommend this company. I won't buy tools from another maker after this service and quality.

On the Kaneshin website, they mention taxes. Did you have to pay a tax in the USA when you bought from Kaneshin?

Thanks for the website and tool recommendations.

Frank

I got the concave cutters too.

All you have to do is send an email with the part #s and shipping type and they send you the whole price. Nothing hidden.

I was a little worried about uncle sam doubling the price too. Not so.

Thank you again Chris!

And what a joy to see a Japanese newspaper!

I will purchase all my tools at KANESHIN!

Glad everyone is liking their new tools. I too got a trunk splitter that's great. Quite simply, there's nothing like a good tool in your hands ;)

How do these tools compare with Fujiyama sold by Dallas Bonsai?

Fujiyama IMHO is very low quality compared to Kaneshin.

I only had one Fujiyama and the metal seem to be a light alloy and seem soft. The cutter blades no longer align after a few heavy cuts...it is so bad, I cannot even fix it anymore. I won't buy Fujiyama...I'd rather buy a good Chinese tool to be honest.

I've never used them, so I can't speak to a comparison. Perhaps Poink or another tool collector could?

Thanks! Good to know. I went ahead and placed an order for a few Kaneshin tools.

My first and only pair of 8" black knob cutters is Fujiyama, and they're about my most-used tool. Only slightly behind that are my 11" stainless concaves, and 11" black trunk splitter...both Fujiyama, and have given great service for many years. I've had the knob cutter for 20 years, and the other two for at least 10. Maybe something has changed recently, but I put them at the same quality as my Kiku tools. I have been disappointed with any tool purchased through Stone Lantern, and Yoshiaki, so I steer away from them.

It seems that some bonsai tool brands (as with almost anything) are now being manufactured in different factories with different material and quality. Buyers beware.

It is good to know that Masakuni and Kaneshin still make quality products.

Super Quick

I ordered a pair of leaf trimmers from Kaneshin. It was shipped on the 18th and arrived here the 21'st. Amazingly quick from Japan to Georgia.

I agree Brian, I have a lg side cutter from fujiyama that's been just fine.

I just bought some more cake holders from Kaneshin...the cheapest I could find at .32 ea. Same kaneshin holders off ebay is .50 ea.

I have a Fujiyama concave cutter from 10 years ago when I tried to start messing with bonsai but really really didn't know what I was doing. They have continued to serve me well. Maybe they were made better than they are now.

My Kaneshin tools were shipped a few days ago so should arrive shortly. Looking forward to seeng the quaility with all the rave reviews.

+ all ten fingers up (toes too) for KANESHIN tools. I've been working with them all the season long, used on 200+ trees... Bonsai scissors, leaf trimmer, knob cutter, concave branch cutter & Jin pliers-all in carbon black. Outstanding quality for reasonable money, perfect services as already mentioned above. I will ask my grand mother for Xtra pocket money to complete my equipment with a wire cutter, some more scissors, a saw for yamadori, a rake, pine tweezers... of course from KANESHIN of bonsai tools

Mine came in. Took a week. Very happy with them. I think I'll order #49
pliers though to have a bigger set. I ordered 48A and they are a little small

If this is for pulling and twisting wires, a good pr of hardware pliers is much easier to use than Jin pliers...great for making jins. ;)

I wasn't sure if #49 were Jin pliers. It says they are in one description but not another and look like regular pliers.

I just placed an order with Kaneshin's online shop, ordered a copper can, pliers and large and small wire cutters.

3.8l long pole type can
20c cutters
511 cutters
48a pliers

Shipped to USA for $390~
