I have the 511 cutters and like them. Interestingly though my Fujiyama concave cutters from 10 yrs ago are heavier than these Kaneshin tools and feel more sturdy...possibly better made? Again, maybe Fujiyama are not as made as well now as before.

Possibly. I have a new-ish Fujiyama and the steel almost feel like aluminum, it is very light. The cutter heads actually "moved" and are mis-aligned now by as much as 1/8" at the ends. I'd consider mine a cheap toy.

I'm sure they will be fine enough. I have some tools from Hidatool, mostly for gardening but also bonsai pruners and they are very sturdy and nicely made.

Was ordering the watering can and decided to pile on some stuff I needed.

These tweezers are really awesome, along with the round cutter and also the hook. All very well made.

My cheap tweezers were driving me crazy, they would not grasp a small weed. These things grab with a very strong grip. They make a more specific tweezer for pines, but I found this works well for that as well.

I hate to say, but I told you they were fantastic! ) Seriously, I also agree, works perfect for pulling pine needles too. And I've been using them recently to pull bark off live veins. Great tool.

God, I'm sounding like a used car salesman! hehe

Oddly enough, now one of my favorite tools. Next up will likely be the #42 blue steel pruning scissors. I have a pair of long handled scissors, so they will be next.

Bought a grafting knife, the #73A

Looks pretty nice from the photos, the back looks like it is scraped to form a hallow and the outside perimeter flattened and polished. Also looks like the bevel is hallow ground.

They are made in the same manner as the samurai sword, which I do believe to be true being that they used to make swords.

I'd be curious to compare to the Masakuni knife.

Also picked up some soil scoops with the screens built in.

For anyone curious as to how these compare, I have a set of the 'handmade japanese' scissors from Hida tool, they were about $65. The tip on both sets of Kaneshin are formed at a steeper angle, allowing for a stronger tip. I've noticed them to be superior for small branch clipping, which can crumble the extreme tip on a set of scissors with a very shallow angle behind the tip.

I reformed the tip on my Hida tool scissors myself after having trouble with the last 1/16" crumble while clipping a small branch.

Mark me down as another highly satisfied and impressed customer. I picked up a replacement concave cutter, some tweezers and a few other assorted tools. All are very well made, and the customer service couldn't be better. I ordered on Monday I believe, and the package arrived on Friday.

Frankly, with the prices and quality, I would stick with them and not bother with the tools offered by places like Stone Lantern (though, the Okatsune brand that Stone Lantern carries are very nice and some of my favorite tools in my bad). The Kaneshin are much better quality for great prices.
