just a tip on bonsai photography

let me find out... It is a variant of ulmus minora I believe.
I will find out in what hardiness zones it grows naturally.

I think those two have trunks something around 6-8 inches or so...

We are trying to plan a yamadori trip there for september!!!

Wish me luck!

She just emailed me that she is giving me a yamadori elm!!!
You guys are gonna have to help me chose one!

You are an artist both with your trees and photo images of them. What are your thoughts on the use of a Lightbox in photographing bonsai? Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talents.

sadly... the trees are not mine.
But lightbox will be good for really small bonsais, I will post a tutorial hopefully this weekend to take pics with a regular point and shoot with no extra lights.

I have a difficult time holding a beer and taking a picture as is... now we are setting standards - lol! Honest though it can be tricky at best to get a good photo. I do not have the space here as I did at the old house and am experimenting with black foam board as a background but need to find larger pieces. To me with proper lighting I see more with a flat black background *shrugs*

Grimmy

i like the flat black background....a solution to the beer problem is to set your beer by your tree so we can all see its relative size...that way it's in arms reach! :)

Max.

Found this for you!
