Another piece of material acquired
Perfect for my design goal

Let’s get started
IMG_4663.jpeg

Pot is prepped and opposing anchor wires secured trough mesh (placed mesh under the pot and covering the drainage hole this time) up into pot and over edges

IMG_4662.jpeg
Chopstick or rounded tweezer end of root rake used here

IMG_4665.jpeg
Usually cut 20-30% of roots away from bottom

IMG_4667.jpeg
secured and filled… now to prune and style

IMG_4676.jpeg
tighter angles used for stiff places needing help holding the bends: successful ✅

wire taken to tip and trunk terminus bent forward and rounded back toward trunk line to create density of apical pad and promote the overall triangular shape to the future apex

IMG_4723.jpeg

Positioned right of center for tension and imbalance - topped off with biogold fertilizer teabag tied through wire and anchored to soil surface

Design idea improvement

Since the trunk is young and pliable, there could be room for more movement on the way up to the apex

Pretty cool. I think putting a very slight upward curve in the first leg of the trunk might be good. I fear it's just a little too stick straight as is, and that perfect straightness might be distracting to viewer.

Agreed, it definitely needs movement. I might add a twist/rotation.

This fall, apply raffia and wire abd give it some movement
That is exactly my plan. Been saving my bundle of raffia for the Fall.
