JBP Issues

I have a lot of experience with bare root pine seedlings and the first year the trees look sick. Stop fussing over them, that will kill them for sure. Water them, do not fertilize them until the candles extend and the needles open (shoot) and find another tree to worry over.

Whos fussing..i had a problem..problem is fixed trees are putting on some growth, not much but the do look healthier from 2weeks ago. I dont touch these trees except to water them. They were looking bad..i did what i was told to do on here..they are looking better..i am pretty sure if i didnt do what i was told i would have dead trees.

Then it doesnt look like im going to be able to grow them down here..the weird thing is my mugo i brought from michigan is doing great. I will do my best to keep them alive and get them healthy, but if they die thats it for JBP for me.

Rick

They grow in Vegas so you should be fine. Listen to @coh @Brian Van Fleet and @Dav4 tell you.

We are all good they are looking much better. I think im just getting too young of material.

Good to hear this. Rick, if you want to show the state of your pine in this time, take and upload the picture of buds/candles (new growth). That's why bonhe wrote that picture didn't help..
I think. I 've received tons of good info from this forum a people here, good ones.

Did you use a baggie? I gotta' know!!:p
I think young material like this is more complicated than older, developed stock.
Feed, water, sun and get out of the way!:D:D

When I see posts from folks in Texas, I start to sweat.....how can ya' stand the heat? And the occasional deluge of rain?

I will try today to get some pics..dont have any candles..do have buds.i guess what i meant by growth is the foliage is much brighter. My mistake on the last pic. I thought he wanted to see a closeup of a needle.

Rick

Yes, I need to see the abnormal needles to make a good judgment. Thank you.
Bonhe

Yeah it quit long enough to take some pics..started back up as i was coming back in.

Rick

Sorry, the main subjects are too blurry but the backgrounds are too sharp! o_O
But in the last pictures, I will make an educational guess here! It looks like your tree has been suffering from fungal disease!
Bonhe

I thought that might be the case..i sprayed with daconil 3 days ago. Sorry about thw blury pics..didnt want to get wet, the wind was blowing (had to take it out of wind protection to take the pic) tree is now sheltered again.

Rick

Christ! Do you use a potato to take pictures?
