Japanese Maple Defoliation

yes i remember you had some health issues.
go at your own pace buddy, all the best.

Unwanted defoliation :

We had about two weeks of very hot, dry weather, like we can have in the best years in late July early August. The month of May was actually the hottest month in recorded climate since the end of the 19th century.

I kept this maple in too small a pot for too long. It was in full sun in the afternoon and didn't like it. Almost all the leaves were scorched, so I removed them. Ten days later, new leaves pushed out :
Same here in Southern Germany. Very hot weather for a couple of weeks and my Deshojo suffered. I'm doing a partial defoliation for now or the leaves that got hit the hardest.

Sorry, I have a habit of assuming the lower post count means less time and experience in Bonsai, even though that makes no sense when you say it out loud!! Lol.
Just, if using a forum platform, I guess my brain calibrates to the forum representation of time. I'm hopefully not the only one that makes that mistake :).
