And the tree!

Can you post any more pictured of the seedlings? :)
I think they've grown half an inch since my original post . I've done a bit more research and have determined these are in fact Ulmus parvifolia 'Drake' (sometimes called 'Lacebark' Elm) and not Ulmus parvifolia 'Catlin'. Someone in my club refers to them as being the same but they are not. I apologize for my inaccuracy but they still make outstanding Bonsai. Here you go:

You can really see the size variations in this shot:

Now here's what you can expect in the second year. I found this one in the sea of others but you could tell it was from last year, which is really odd because I didn't see any last year. Cool stuff!

First I never seen an 8 inch ruler and second I want a few if available in say Oct Nov
That be a yardstick cut down to 8 inches. :D I'm probably going to wait another year before I make them available. However, if there's another "sea" crop this year, that could change.

Cool, interesting that it is so sporatic with seed, instead of every year.

Not to nit pick, but Ulmus parviflora 'Drake' is a name referring to a single clone of a tree. It only refers to asexually propagated plants from the original, for example only cuttings or grafts. The seedlings resorted the genetics. Their label should read simply Ulmus parviflora. No clonal designation. You could add ''seedling from 'Drake' '', but it should be clear it is not a cutting of 'Drake'. Just a little detail, If you spot a seedling with unique traits, you could give it your own clonal designation. Or call them '- seedling strain from 'Drake'. Bonsai people tend to care about provenance, may as well get it right.
