So here's a fall color report. Last fall the leaves simply turned brown and didn't fall off.....???? I had to cut them off. This year, 60% of the leaves fell off green in September as they did in post #70. The few that did stay on for the cool weather did this! I really think it's an issue of the root mass developing to bring on the color. I'm going to put it in a larger pot next spring to increase the root mass as well as more visual balance.

Great detailed and informative thread. Thank you! Two questions, what kind of a substrate are you using for the Full Moon Maple, and where did you find that purple pot? I love the subtle color and that slight corner look on both sides right above the feet of the pot. Thanks again for documenting and sharing your journey with this fascinating maple variety.

Substrate is APL although not a lot of lava. I found the the pot sleeping in my kiln.
