The Whte Rhino thing was a sarcastic joke! That lead to the seal pup, which was a joke too! Hell, they are on the rebound again! The condors still need some time!

Even funnier is a Condors nest with a pink thong in it......with SOME GUY clamoring up the side of the cliff screaming obscenities, wishing he could have that elevator to fart in, trying his best to retrieve a piece of Bonsai Nut history.

Late last year I noticed a volunteer elm in the margin between sidewalk and street just a couple of blocks from my house. I would look at it on the way to work regularly, and walked the dog past it just to get a better look. It had been chopped off several times and had a pretty thick trunk and low branches - accidental prebonsai.

Every time I saw it, a little part of my brain said: "no one will notice" and "it doesn't even belong there". A much bigger part of my brain said: "the fine for damaging/removing a street tree is huge, and when I get busted it will suddenly be declared a city street tree!" Even if I had been able to justify it to myself ethically, the potential run-in with the city was a more than adequate deterrent!

I was thinking about going to the city arborist for a long shot at permission, and then one day it was just gone. Likely cut off again by a landscape crew, but possibly stolen by "that guy". Time to walk the dog over there again and look for evidence. I guess my point is, even though the city probably destroyed it, it was theirs to destroy . . . and I'm ok with that.

Back to moral approaches based in reality. That looks like a water vein that the roots of your Masterpiece probably have a death-grip on. Let her go, Saul. If you want to honor her, make a plaque, care for her where she lays. And maybe you can grow to become a teacher for the very community you once would have rather robbed from, than asked for permission.

Sorce I knew it was a joke, I just do not think some things are good material to joke about. Why not throw in a few cute one liners about mentally handicapped people .... although that might be striking to close to home for those that think these type of things are funny. Look I think nature is to be revered, a big reason why I enjoy Bonsai so killing a baby seal is no more cute or funny to me than killing an innocent child. As for my Bonsai I don't do this to impress someone or to try and make a living I just like having trees I can bring with me. I also detest thiefs and liars, so excuse me when I dislike a person who posts they don't need to get permission or its only illegal if you get caught.

I actually find it completely screwy that people delete free dog posts on craigslist. Yet turtles and fish, rabbits, goats, they don't.

If this was a comedy forum.....hell. I got a nursery by me run by mentally handicapped people.......

I told my wife I'll probably get better service there than my depot!
