Hello all,

I am new to the forum. I have grown to love and appreciate the Acer species from my time working in a Botanical Garden. Enjoying browsing the site so far! Started collecting plants for bonsai and training 2 years ago. I am excited to learn from and share with you all.

Grabbed this from the Garden today. Growing at a pretty intense angle. Any recommendations?

Hi, welcome to the forum

I would start by planting it at an angle so that the main roots are in a horizontal plane. Eventually you will have to cut down but make sure it is well established in the pot first.

Windswept? I like it, you can start to wire the branches into position now.
Ah yes, windswept could be nice. The trunk is sooo linear though.... I'll have to play around with branches to get a feel for it. Thank you for your input.
