FINAL Rules & Guidelines for the First Annual Fall Box Store Challenge

Tough one. Part of me says go ahead no problem. But the other part says but what is the point of having rules if they aren't followed. Hmmm

My final conclusion is to vote that it is ok since this is really just for fun and having the most forum participants the better. I think if there was a real award, cash, or prize then unfortunately I'd say no. My vote is to include nybonsai. Vin?

I agree...maybe your tree won't be included in the official judging if submitted past the deadline. Still, having it up there for critique with others would be cool/fine/groovy with me.

again i don't want to upset anybody and the rules are the rules. So i understand if the answer is no, because it was made clear up front. Honestly, I was somewhat hesitant to even ask.

But i actually have some time after work today to stroll through a home depot or something of the like. And with my in-laws coming to visit today, something to keep me busy and away from them is an added bonus!

and not for nothing my design abilities are awful so I don't think i'm a threat to any competition.

This is just for fun and this first challenge has allowed everyone to sort of get their feet wet and be better able to work on the next one. That being said, there were others that weren't able to acquire material in the allotted time and although it appears as though you had good reason for not making the deadline, I don't think it would be fair to make an exception. However, it would be great to see your work. Maybe you can still purchase something and start a new thread showing what you would have entered? Just a thought. Also, this is everyone's challenge and these are just my thoughts. If 100% of the participants in your intended category feel differently then we would go along with your request. In the end, we all appreciate your interest in the challenge no matter what happens.

Maybe we could have a thread for "almost" entries. I picked up a couple of plants last week but with everything going on around here lately (National and now recovering from the National), I haven't had time to take pics or work on the trees yet.
