Fall Contest 2016......Voter Guidelines

Voting will take place via "likes" in the Contest thread.

This thread will outline some things I wish for folks to take into consideration when voting.

I. Would you want the tree?
a. Will it survive?
b. Would you pay more for it now?

II. Was the Transformation Amazing?
Yes or no?

III. Taking into consideration the entrants years doing Bonsai...and the provided detailed work pic, is the work they performed good?

Basically, if 2 out of the 3 are answered yes....you should vote, but you can vote however you like!

Please remember that you can go back and "unlike" anything.
The leader in the beginning doesn't mean a thing!
(anyone want to get in on some side action!? Lol!)

Plus....At some point I have to go count likes and do a tally.

We have 4 prizes so far so only voting for your 4 favorites would be nice for me!

But it doesn't matter....
The chaos of the voting, and the different levels of skill, opinion, and sanity of the voters is what will make this work!

Prizes are still trickling in.
So 4 is not too solid a number as far as that goes.

I envision a tie breaking shootout.

And maybe another shootout for first choice of prize.

But I must also take into consideration winners from overseas, as all the prizes can not be shipped over.

I too must balance.

The "like" system and it's limitations are your only bounds.

"Unliking" something is encouraged.

The Entry Format is designed as such to make it easy for voters to locate and process information neccessary to like your entry and process it....evenly, against other entries.

Following it, and the Rules, is the only way this contest is fair.

That said, voters will from this point forward choose to not vote for ANY entry not following the format, or breaking the Rules.

Forgive me for assuming when sick prizes are at stake, folks would read!
I didn't want to add any disqualification threats cuz that is mean.

I will leave the current full entries at this time, however, You may report them for deletion to@Bonsai Nut (reason, Sorce Said) and you may reenter since I was unclear.

Other Incomplete entries will be deleted and you all may reenter full Entries.

What does this rule mean?

"Contest is open to any tree not displaying growth into the design intended by transformation work."

This is to prevent trees styled 6 months ago from entering....

Am I disqualified without them?
I can take more pics today, not gonna dig out the nebari though....I don't think.

What puzzles me is why the contest goes until mid November if all we care about is initial styling.

The most important thing about the Contest is that EVERYONE can participate.
With a big window...we can still have trees coming in late!

Should you wait until Noveber when you can properly style a killer Spruce?
Or buy a young juniper tear it up and enter it tomorrow so you can get votes early?

Voters are instructed to not "like" any tree that was styled 2 years ago and grew finely into the design.

It's really that open!

Voter responsibility will be key to the fairness of this method.

But this is a Contest...for Nuts...by Nuts, everything about that should keep this fair.

Having people of all skill levels and opinions, voting on people of all skill levels and opinions.

What it boils down to...

Is me loving great before and afters...
Wanting everyone to enter...
And giving ANYONE the chance to win some cool stuff!

I'm building fake names and email addresses as we speak.
Looks like there will be a bunch of new members joining over the next couple weeks.
I just have to keep my multiple personalities straight and those knob cutters are mine.

Few things.....

I am counting on like happies and mindless voters...
It keeps it Anyone's game!

Voting is limited only to the limits of the like system itself.
I am also counting on the different levels of understanding of the like system.
