I dig the little house!I also have an Acacia Burkei (Black monkey thorn) forest.
When I originally started it, it was just a load of trees in a pot that I wanted to get bigger and thicker - 2011

After totally neglecting it for 3 years, I eventually got round to re-potting it and tidying it up - Sept 2014

In November 2014 - I decided to add some rocks to the planting and move some trees around - Before and after

In March 2015 it looked okay but I had not cut any of the branches back.

I have just done a cut back on all the branches and now to leave it to grow out again. - Aug 2016 - it looks little worse for wear but I just want the trees to start growing. I do have a few more smaller trees that I might add into the background. Still deciding on that.

Bazinga!Is it tomorrow yet?
View attachment 113574 Picture from last year. Needs some attention it's grown out of control this year, so has the kiddo!
I have this group/forest of Carpinus betulus/Hornbeam trees. It was collected(2009) as it is, no trees added. It was growing on the edge of the old stone quarry. Still in early phase of development.
Is it tomorrow yet?
For sure. I'm just messin' ya.I have a thread about it somewhere but that forest is changing this spring so, wait till then?
It is not best solution, I know. Biggest tree was edited at the top this spring, and therefore it is bit lower then it used to be. So it will be higher in the future. Since problem is in upper parts of the canopy it is something which could be solved during couple of seasons if design will dictate to do so.Do you feel as though the two tallest trees are kind of competing? Just curious.
Very nice material Maros. One option might be to pull it apart (if possible) bring the 2 tall trees close together and the smaller ones now in the middle, to the right of the main tree?It is not best solution, I know.
