I don't have one, but I'd like to make one in the near future.

I have a few too.

First is my trident maple forest.

This is how it looked right in the beginning when I got it - 2008

I then added some rocks to it in 2011 - 2012

Before I had it re-potted in the most hideous of pots - 2014

Eventually a few weeks ago, I re-potted it into a much better and shallower pot. I moved a few of the trees around to make the overall image more appealing to the eye.

I also have an Acacia Burkei (Black monkey thorn) forest.

When I originally started it, it was just a load of trees in a pot that I wanted to get bigger and thicker - 2011

After totally neglecting it for 3 years, I eventually got round to re-potting it and tidying it up - Sept 2014

In November 2014 - I decided to add some rocks to the planting and move some trees around - Before and after

In March 2015 it looked okay but I had not cut any of the branches back.

I have just done a cut back on all the branches and now to leave it to grow out again. - Aug 2016 - it looks little worse for wear but I just want the trees to start growing. I do have a few more smaller trees that I might add into the background. Still deciding on that.

I dig the little house!

I have this group/forest of Carpinus betulus/Hornbeam trees. It was collected(2009) as it is, no trees added. It was growing on the edge of the old stone quarry. Still in early phase of development.

You talk about nature creating something premade for Bonsai. That's beautiful. Great work on the secondary and tertiary ramification. Do you feel as though the two tallest trees are kind of competing? Just curious. Bend in the second largest near the base is absolutely fantastic.

I have a thread about it somewhere but that forest is changing this spring so, wait till then?
For sure. I'm just messin' ya.
Here's my cedar elm clump and forest or whatever before any work done. It's truly a 3 trunk clump. Another came with it at collection. With time it could have fused and become 4 trunks. I added 3 more.

It is not best solution, I know. Biggest tree was edited at the top this spring, and therefore it is bit lower then it used to be. So it will be higher in the future. Since problem is in upper parts of the canopy it is something which could be solved during couple of seasons if design will dictate to do so.

Thanks for positive feedback from all of You guys.

Very nice material Maros. One option might be to pull it apart (if possible) bring the 2 tall trees close together and the smaller ones now in the middle, to the right of the main tree?

I just realized I spelt forest with rr.
I tried searching and couldn't find it.

Sorry!

Don't have one anymore. I did start a few but soon realize that in order to create a good forest planting, you need to invest a lot of time, and get very good trees. Just young seedlings in a pot doesn't do it for me. And there is not enough stuff around here to collect. So.. Nope. I am out. :(
