Credibility thread, this is where you get to post and shine.

My current favorites (I think) hard to tell from day to day what will catch my eye... These are earlier this spring, will get some current ones with leaves on the Hackberry and partial defoliated Korean Hornbeam. I made some tweaks to the Hornbeam with some new spring growth and wiring, to meld the canopy together into one outline.

It is, I thought you were being facetious. My point was Brian helped me alot through the thread. I can post the picture when I'm home tomorrow.
OK, I guess the rules have changed again and I didn't know it. This is what you said:

"This is not my 'best tree', but this is my best tree that is solely my work. "

I asked you and then you said:

"His name is Brian Van Fleet. Link in first post"

In my book "solely my work" means solely your work. No out side influence. If someone give you a suggestion and you act on it, it is not your work anymore. You may have done the physical work, but you didn't think of the work nor make the decision but rather decided to act on someone else's idea. Does that make sense? The act of the physical work is really kind of nothing in my book, I could get my daughter to cut the branches, but it's knowing where , or someone coaching you as to where to make the cuts, That is not your work. Don't ever allow yourself to get confused about the work and the ideas.
If I had suggested to remove a branch on this tree and you did it, would you have answered:

His name is Brian Van Fleet and Al Keppler. Link in first post ?

Beautiful trees Judy. Truly an inspiration.

Fair point. If I remember correctly, it was more of horticultural practices- "do this at this time", "prune now", "repot in this month"- kind of thing. Design is mine. On page one of the thread you will see the deign I drew, followed by brian drawing the same picture with time frames for work.

That is a crock of crap.
If you wish to post a picture to talk then I would ask you to cough up. After you post one of your trees, I will ask you why you feel that way. If you feel you don't have to, your no better than me...live with that.

Awesome. Posting his name was for no reason then????
I have a lot to learn.....

I can’t say it’s “solely my work@ because Telperion Farms grew it from seed. I bought it as rough stock from them in 2012. All the wiring, styling, pruning, etc is all my work.

By the way, Al, there is already a thread like this. It’s called “The Tree Thread”. It has several thousand posts. The rule if that thread is every post has to have a picture of one of your trees. It was started by a user named “Cascade”. A similiar thread for Shohin was started by BVF.

Well, my design wouldn't be very effective on a dead or weakened tree.

Wow. Out of curiosity, any idea how old it was when you purchased it?

Sharing so I can comment on @Cable post. Ficus have been set back a bit this year from a long winter. Recovering nicely outside now.
Not solely my work- but I do have about 12 of those in progress currently.4DE31D55-AAC4-42D0-B5B3-8A1932C18F92.jpeg

Good thread. I’ll play. My work from wild lands to now. Lodgepole Pine, only one of 3 to survive borer attack before collection. This fall, I’ll be redoing. Probably a new front from the current back.AD940545-4AFD-496C-838D-4DB991511162.jpeg

You are correct. But, here you have to post a picture of one of your trees to say anything about anyone else's tree. So far the only person that didn't get it, is a guy who never posts trees and didn't in this one either, Penumbra. Another wannabe, always complaining never showing. I don't have time for people like this.....

I just told a story about this tree that I had forgot all about.
I had wired the trunk on this to try and hold the position of the original set. @Smoke had told me to take the wire off the trunk that it was set in place already. I didn’t think it was and I didn’t feel it was when I put the wire on.
he was right though and saved me more scars. It is in a new pot since this pic. I will post all of my trees soon in a backyard thread.
Once they are healthier.

Here are my best.

Trident maple that needs work on the nebari. One day my skills will be up to the task.20200425_134513.jpg

Water Oak

Water Elm that I had worked on for about 5 years until a dum dum mistake took it out this winter.

Thankfully I took some cuttings a few years ago so it wasn't a total loss. Still hurt though.

Here’s what it looked like when I bought it in 2012:

8308778F-2B36-4E09-B512-1410596D4A56.jpeg

It had been grown in a field like this:

D5EF52EC-67AF-4758-A3AA-0D9454550EE6.jpeg

So, the base of the trunk had already been developed.

I’m guessing those trees were 15 years in the ground. It was shipped to me in an Anderson flat.

Here’s a few of my favourite progressions to date.

Last pic of the big spruce was taken just now, haven’t touched it this year yet.

Final pics of the junipers are old ones, pretty shaggy right now. That’s the best they have looked yet but not yet he best they will I hope😀.

@Smoke I am happy to see you sticking around. Remember last year we were discussing that awesome little Amur maple for sale? At one point you gave me a pretty short list of people posting real quality work here and I told you I figured the list should be longer. I also said that I thought there were a number of people here who maybe haven’t posted that kind of work yet but obviously would soon.

In the later category @Hartinez was one of those I had in mind. @VAFisher another. Both here in the thread, looking damn good I think!

Cheers all.
