I have bought pines last two years and can attest to the quality. There is simply no other way to get Pines with that much quality low branching. If you want to grow a multi trunk Japanese black pine, this is absolutely the way to go.
Two years ago, I bought Japanese black pine as groups (5-7 per block) and kept most of them together. It’s great to have the ability to induce such low transformation. The genetics are excellent in regards to needle length, etc. etc..
I’m wondering if you’ve ever tried growing pain cuttings with your technique?
The only grower, I know that produces pains from cutting is lone Pine nursery.
It would be awesome if somebody could figure out how to grow cork bark pine from cuttings.
