California Shohin convention 2012

Small IMPACT.

These are just some teasers. I will try to get the whole stand tomorrow. The lighting in this area is just terrible and fotos are really hard with out slave lites.

but enjoy what you can

Ripsgreentree (Glenn Van Winkle) and Ted Matson doing duel demo on growing and soil. Pondbaskets, and cali dama and whatever else Glenn could get in there. Pretty informative stuff, don't tell Glenn I said that, I have a reputation to keep up.

Here are some shots of vendors just during set up. Thats Chris from Telperion....you might know him here as Captain Kirk (capnk) He is standing in front of the last six feet of space. His booth runs about twenty feet to the left, with some amazing pots pulling anchor duty. Pictures of Lisa tomorrow. I'll get her to shoot you that smile that makes you want to stop and buy something. Which I did.

awesome pics!!!! looks like a great event.... I gotta get down there for this sometime...

they might be small.... but they sure are mighty!!! :)

I'm actually salivating... Pick me up something nice will you Al? I guess I'll just have to give myself a big allowance for the Mammoth Fundraiser on the 25'th. Then maybe I'll feel better.

So, what's the difference between people who prefer mainly shohin, versus those who like larger trees?

I would have to say that shohin folks must have more patience.... Wiring those detailed small trees can be a test of frustration... And getting those leaves to look correct aspect wise to the tree. Also the watering game is so much more intense.

I think that larger trees are more forgiving of mistakes and design flaws than shohin as well.
I love them both...

Thanks for sharing the pics Al, looks like it was a lot of fun. I have never been to a show but I plan on being at the National Exhibition this summer.
