While we are doing the countdown... When I was looking closer at my workshops/sessions I saw that I booked a Tree Critique with Mauro I hadn't remembered selecting and I wasn't able to see more details as I believe its closed now. These are critiques of ones own trees, correct? Not a more intensive analysis of the material in the show? Just wanted to confirm so I could plan to tote a couple projects with me if that was the case.

Yes, it’s a critique of one’s own tree. You can ask them any questions you want about it. “Would you cut or leave this branch? How’s the planting angle? Should I air layer this piece off?” Etc.

I am getting very stoked for this weekend! Hope to put some names to faces and see some excellent trees.

Any chance the round tables and lectures might get recorded for viewing later? I seem to have booked workshops during all the most interesting ones

I second this -- I am doing a workshop during the Sunday potters roundtable. It may make a great follow up podcast...
Cant wait for the weekend to get here!

I love this idea, but we just don't have the bandwidth to make this happen this time. Definitely on the top of our list if we do a repeat.

Maybe we can find some Nutters or audience members that would be up for crowd-sourcing the effort. I'll throw a phone tripod into the car, just in case

Cool, if someone records it, I can see if we can get it up on our newly created club youtube channel or something.

got my restaurant reservations placed! I know ill need it after 5 hours in a car
Where are you going? I'm pretty familiar with restaurants in the St. Louis area.

If y’all are on the fence about attending, Nao still has a very excellent selection of pots to choose from so head on down. :) Tomorrow they open up the vending area to the public for the $40 weekend price (tree exhibition and vendor only, workshops not include). This is some very choice shopping, not the sold out elbows in your eye madness of Nationals/PBE. Which is good for shoppers, not so good for vendors. 🥲 So please drive on over local/semi local folks.

Some trees posted by Mauro and a ‘shohin’ display photo from John Kim 😂. I believe that one was created by Tyler Sherrod and clients.

Yes please come out, support our vendors, see the exhibit, say hello!
Awards were just announced last night. Best in Show went to Adair Martin's (used to be a regular on these forums) Zelcova, which was exhibited in the Kokufu in the 1950's I believe and then imported to the United States in the 60's. Stunning tree!
