It’s why I don’t smoke weed THEN wire bonsai anymore. But man. I bet that could be a winner of bonsai class for some folks.

Seriously. I don't smoke very often anymore, but definitely wouldn't before taking concave cutters to an expensive tree. What seems "totally awesome!" when you're high, might turn into "what did I do?" when you're sober.

I was walking out of the PBE with the Colorado Blue Spruce I bought from Todd Schlafer, and this guy's like, "Dude! Lot's of possibilities with that one. Smoke a J and start styling!" Ummm... bad idea with my $1000 tree.

Maybe study the tree with some herbal enhancement to get those creative juices flowing, but step away from the cutters.

Oh no, it will ruin the moment for me!
Weed makes me focus on what I'm doing. Great for couch potato activities like videogaming and watching documentaries for the sixth time because I fell asleep, not for judging my artwork because that little branch is you know, just, not, in the exact spot I want it to be. I've spent six hours on a detail of a drawing the last time I did something like that, and at the end of the night I shredded it because I was being too critical. It was a portrait of my best friend and she really wanted to frame it.

My weed grows next to my trees, but that's all the interaction these two have in common.

Save the J for when all the work is done and you're not in the backyard anymore. It should help you relax, not stress you out ;-)
