Bjorn Bjorholm Speaks Out On Hedge Pruning

In Adair's defense, you can't hear tone here, I don't think he is very proficient at typing heart into these posts, but he ain't that bad!

That said ...

Outside of Japanese Traditional Bonsai Standards, "better" can be true on many levels.

Monetarily alone, if a traditionally well ramified tree sells for 10k in Japan.
And a hedged tree sells for 20k in Europe.
With the same amount of overhead for each....

Better, has a new definition.

What are we basing the definition of "better" on?

This Is a ridiculous argument.

We started talking about painting didn't we?

Sure sign of a dead thread, talk of paint.

Deja Vu? Odd.

You're just lucky it's my week for women!!
Merry Christmas and may God bless!!

Been here for 2 years and only have 8 posts? What are you doing here?
Lets see your trees big dog so we can see for ourselves how "good" you are.
Or do you just come here to troll people and spout bullshit?

Now, now.....patience, and kindness my little friend....Merry Christmas to you! 🎅 🤶

@Walter Pall Is there somewhere that I can find information on how to practice your technique? I'm very interested in trying this out, but all I can find is ppl arguing about it. 😥

Walter Pall has participated in a series of deciduous courses offered by bonsai empire. I'd you can't find what you are looking for elsewhere, this online course is definitely worth the price. https://www.bonsaiempire.com/courses/developing-deciduous-bonsai

Wow! Condescension runs strong in you!!
The posting style of "BonsaiDawg" sure seems familiar. I'm guessing it's a long time member with multiple accounts who likes to mess with people. A few names come to mind but I'll let others decide for themselves.

This thread is roached anyway,,,

The only way to evaluate a method is by comparing the results to another method. In the end it is not a matter of belief or tradition , it is a matter of shown facts, He who has the better trees in the long run has the better method.

You say this over and over again as if there is a universally agreed upon measuring stick. "Who has the better trees" is completely subjective. Unless you want to measure "facts only" and start measuring the length of internodes, degree of taper vs length of taper, years measured, how many bifurcations you get per season, etc., this is all just a moot point that you're trying to prove with the assumption that if people compared your trees to others that they would indeed say yours are "better"

Ones with little respect and disregard aren't worthy of his time. Reading your words. You fall into this category.

Scared of me? Geez...

I will gladly help anyone if the topic is something I know about. If, however, someone comes on and spouts B-S, I’m not afraid to call them on it.

You’re not the first one who doesn’t like my writing style. If I come on too strong, please note that have a touch of ADHD and Asperger’s. It’s a gift! Lol!!!

I am passionate about bonsai, and I try my best to educate and elevate others. I have been involved with bonsai for 50 years, so I have seen trends come and go. And, I’ve seen what works and what doesn’t.

I not saying I know it all, even though you might think I am saying that. I know a great deal about SOME aspects of bonsai. That’s the cool thing about bonsai, there’s always something new to learn.

Here’s my bonsai wisdom of the day:

Here’s a way to evaluate bonsai techniques:

We all want 3 things out of a technique:

1) we want it to work Fast
2) we want it to be Easy
3) we want it to create Quality

The best you can hope for is two out of the three!

If it’s Easy and Fast, it won’t be Quality.
If it’s Easy and Quality, it won’t be Fast.
If it’s Fast and Quality, it won’t be Easy.

Bravo....much better attitude Adair...see I knew you could do it! 👏👏👏👏

Now ....don't try and take the cred for calling others out...you know who got called out...😳😳😳

I don't have any issues with the method itself. I do have issues with the way he has framed his defense or argument or whatever you call it. He repeats it over and over again but never recognizes or responds to the fact that it is an impossible way to measure results.

Edit: and to be fair, you're right. I came off super condescending and rude. Could have framed the question better, but I didn't :/. Either way my point still stands and I'd love a real response to that issue.
