Yes it is. Plus more buds sprouted up in the box since the last photo I got of it. I’m pretty sure bald cypress now is the only species I’d go out of my way to get besides pines, spruce, and whatever I manage to find to collect in nature.

Since this is turning into the gratuitous Bald Cypress thread, i thought I should share a little bit of my cypress collection. I got this first one from UncleC earlier this year. @CrippyFreaky24
Here it is in its swamp tub for growout

And here’s a little swamp scene forest I put together from two and three year old seedlings.


Here’s a little one because why not have a little one…. It’s going to be a tiny flat top style.

I also have a couple “swamp tubs” full of other cypresses growing out. You can see one in the top left corner of the second picture.

I have the drain holes drilled on the sides where I want the water level. The round tubs are pond liners from lowes and the rectangle ones are concrete mixing tubs.

Wow that’s a lot of stuff you got there, especially. That cypress you got looks very nice in its grow out tub. I may need to get more of a tub for my bald cypress because it’s pot drains water relatively easily, so I’m trying to water it multiple times per day instead of just twice since the pot dries out. That bald cypress forest looks very good too. The seedlings look very nice and healthy. I think a swamp tub will help the bald cypress to really explode with growth but I was instead planning on putting its pot in a tray of water instead of a swamp tub.

So, @Cajunrider, do you happen to have anything with a nice fluted base like some of these that would work with a finished height around 24"? I could maybe go a bit taller, but I'm trying not to get too many big trees that I can't transport or repot solo.

BTW unless you want to develop extreme sumo BC bonsai, making that bonsai 24" will be tough.

It is, I have another one from him that is the same size. Just angled differently. He blessed me! And I paid a pretty penny lol. But still a great price point (to me). I don’t want to discuss his prices on a public forum out of respect. But Here’s the other one for some trunk porn lol
