Azalea Picture Identification Thread

Shiryu no Homare - Sometimes a simple color pattern can be a keystone for a collection.

The flower colors are so brilliant it’s hard to accurately represent the color. Toss in interesting rare Rinpu (curled) leaves and good horticultural characteristics and this is a really nice bonsai cultivar to have.

This plant is up for initial styling this year and repotting next spring… or sooner.

White's nursery. Unfortunately he doesn't ship. It's a 4hr round trip drive for me every time I go there. I may make another trip before he closes for the summer.
Chesapeake VA?

Germantown, MD

Tomorrow is their last day before they close for the summer, going to try to make a trip up tomorrow.
I should have checked with you earlier. My timing has generally been pretty poor.

I contacted Ronnie Palmer at Azalea Hills Gardens and Nursery. He sent me the attached updated list (.pdf).

Ronnie said,

“We are doing our inventory now. I think we are about 50 % complete. I was having difficulty editing the website earlier in the spring. I will try again soon. Here is our current listing. Tell your group that they can order anytime. Many more plants will be added.”

I know what I'm doing Tuesday. Making a order.
Sounds good. There are some interesting Kurume on the partial inventory too. Some were even brought in the country by Domoto (like Salmon Beauty, Hime Kagami etc.) back in the day, so these have really stood the test of time.

Sounds like a great place but they clearly state No Shipping.

Yep, Whites Nursery does not, yet Azalea Hills Garden and Nursery does most of their business by shipping.

My mistake. Under Nursery sales it states "we do not ship these plants" but they do have a mail order department for smaller plants.
