Just made Matt O a offer on ebay and he took it. Only took like less that a minute after I mashed the send button. I paid for it as quickly before he changed his mind. This pot was made by Satomi. Daughter of Manzan. Long Time Japanese potter. She makes great pots that have awesome color and great size for Shohin bonsai.

Its in the process of getting three grafts on it as we speak!

That reminds me I need to cut those loose. Tomorrow is a shohin study group so I will take it and cut it free Willy!

I love her work. Only have two small ones, but I love that shape of yours.

That looks good but again I tend not to see the plant/tree as I would like to when they are in glazed pots. I have seen a lot of pretty pots and don't remember what was in them... Will that change as I age Al?

I'm not sure I read sense in your post. This is a glazed pot? If you seen a pretty pot and you don't remember what was in it, thats an owner issue. Not having a tree worthy of the pot happens to a lot of us. Will that change with age? I suspect for me it will change when I win the lottery

What I will try to clarify is that I have seen a lot of colorful pots in wonderful displays but rarely, if ever remember the plant/tree. Even in the hot shows... I just like old clay pots, lots of age, no colors and find the plant(s) to be the center of attention... MY PERSPECTIVE, but I would rather have a 10,000 USD pot plain over the equal amount in "colorful" pots. Everyone is different, I am no exception my friend ;)

As far as the lottery is concerned - hell, odds are better in the Casino and the stock market :p Not my game... :)

Ok I get it. You like plain over glazed. That's the way I like my donuts not pots

You have been picking up a lot of top quality Shohin sized pots lately. Are you preparing for the next US National Shohin Expo? Or better yet, are you attempting the first ever all maple Shohin display! If anyone can pull it off, it would be you, haha!
