Ah, it's finally arrived...

I'm quite anxious myself. Exact measurements are 78" x 78" x 78".

Wow! One thing is for sure, there is nobody on this forum who is doing anything remotely close to this with tropicals. If they are they aren't posting like you. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! I got rid of my old one as it was just too small, but in the time that I had it I saw the most growth I've ever seen. It even caused some of my Ficus to push out figs, which was a first. This one should be even more helpful since I will be able to fit all of my trees in it.

Pure awesomeness. It's like your very own ficus laboratory.

Thanks! I couldn't agree more. People will tell me it's not necessary or that it's too much, but personally I disagree completely. It's something that makes me happy, and it will hopefully make the trees happy too. I've got so much room now that I'll be able to grow exotic, rarer kind of species. Rock on

Nothing is too much if you enjoy it. Thanks for posting. Looks like a giant two plant grow room if you ask me. all you need is some crazy LED's

Looking good. I imagine you'll have multiple levels of racks of lights setup in there eventually.

This looks great. I'm glad that someone is dedicated to doing whatever it takes to do indoor plants the way they deserve. Post again when you get it going on....

People keep telling me I need to get LEDs, but I just don't agree with them. I've got over 1,000 watts of T5 HO light, and the light they give off is only going to be upped by the reflectivity of this tent. I'll have the lights up and running tomorrow.

You don't need to get LEDs, but they are a viable alternative and the future even if the technology is a bit green yet. It is a different sort of tinkering getting them setup than trimming a bonsai, but I derive a similar sense of satisfaction.

Looking forward to seeing it full of plants! Hope it gives you good results.

Chris

A part of me is already doubting this whole idea, though. It's a tent full of unused space, mainly in the top. It's just too tall

My first thought when I saw the photos was, why not build a second level and grow twice as many plants?

I could, but that'd be a looooot of lights, and I've got the carpentry skills of a termite.

Here it is all zipped up. The cool thing is that it's got a window so that I can look inside the setup. It also gets pretty warm in the box, so the tropicals should looove that.
