A True Bonsai Tree

A really true Bonsai tree should be at least 100 years old & Created-Grown-Trained by a Japanese or Chinese Master Gardener in Japan or China...Anything else should be considered a Bonsai Look A Like.

A really true Penjing would also have to follow these Guidlines..

The Real Bonsai people here know exactly what I mean...

No, you have chosen to believe a dream/fantasy. Why don't you list the real bonsai people as you know them?

Vance says: No, you have chosen to believe a dream/fantasy.

Chuck says: No Dream, No Fantasy...just the Truth

For those wondering what my point is,,,,it is simply to enlighten BNutters here of the difference between Bonsai and True Bonsai...
Hey dipshit, take a spin through this article written by someone who has an actual acquaintance with the truth--and see where your "enlightenment" stands. Pay particular attention to part about the intentional avoidance of Iemetsu practices for bonsai, as well as the "beginnings of penjing and Japanese bonsai" The entire thing kind of takes a dump on your empty headed 'truth'

Do I have to go edit your posts to include "look-alike"?

I understand where you are coming from, not from the first post, but with subsequent ones.

Professionals have been talking about if what we do should even be called Bonsai.

I reckon it will change for some, like in Europe, one of the "generations" will pick up a new name that will stick, because they understand it in a more unified way. Honest and helpful to each other.

We'll never get beyond our "motoroil turkey".

It should be clear why.

In my heart, I want to believe that Chuck/Bolero is just stirring the pot and trolling the forum because he's bored... but when you see the trees and landscapes he posts... yikes... it IS possible that he might actually believe his truly craptastic first post in this thread, along with his follow ups, to be true. Any way, as much as I wanted this thread to quickly disappear into the ethernet without any response (as it really didn't deserve any), the subsequent lambasting of said stance is kinda fun, too.... carry on!

Thank you for your clear headed response to my thinking, it is appreciated, also correcting look alike....

I have read word for word the article and Yes it reinforces my thinking and OP...

Bolero, I don't remember your acting in such an outlandish way before. I seriously wonder if you need medication or if you are just as arrogant as you make yourself out to be. You are indeed the Nazi of Bonsai.

I don't believe in god, but thank god for the ignore function!

Bolero, I think you truly do believe what you are saying. And, I also believe there will be no convincing you otherwise.

When my mother reached “advanced age”, she developed dementia, not Alzheimer’s, in which her memories became scrambled, and she lost her ability to reason. She DID live in an alternate reality! She “remembered” events that never happened! And no amount of logic or persuasion or even photographic proof would convince her otherwise.

In her case, the doctors suspect it was due to a series a mini-strokes that caused the damage.

I suggest you visit the doctor to get checked out!

I actually think i this thread is hilarious 😂

So, @Bolero , by your reasoning, a tree could be 99 years old (or 499 in your amended position), meet all the other requirements (trained in China or Japan, etc) and not be a “bonsai” .... and then the day it reaches its 100th birthday now it is magically a “bonsai.”

True? Doesn’t that seem a little silly to you?

Yea i didnt see this one lasting long either but with it starting to get into the slower months for some of us. I guess timing really is everything in Bonsai.

A really true Burrito should be at least 1 pound, created by a Mexican master chef in Mexico...Anything else should be considered a Burrito Look A Like.

A really true Enchilada would also have to follow these Guidlines..

I’m with @Dav4 on this one. Seems a clear cut case of kicking the hornets nest just because you can. You know cause the internet.
I think it’s one thing for @Bolero to be bold in his statements, but he should at least have quality “fake bonsai” or at least better efforts at “fake bonsai”. Be bold with his statements AND his trees, people may take him more serious. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Why I’m even posting to this rubbish, moving it to the top of the feed, is blowing my mind even.

But that’s all I’ve got.

Although I respect and admire your work and others work it is simply not old enough to be other than a look a like Bonsai...

At first I thought it was a tongue-in-cheek kind of joke, and I found some of the replies amusing, but many rather tough.

But it seems you were serious, so when you write :

Although I respect and admire your work and others work it is simply not old enough to be other than a look a like Bonsai...

Do you think that all the music that came before the invention of the pianoforte, or the saxophone is not "true" music ?

As if bonsaï didn't evolve in the many centuries before spreading first from China, then from Japan ?...

No need to reply, I'm quite sure you won't change your mind anyway :)

THIS is at least partly true :D

I've never been to Mexico, but I tasted local foods in different countries, and they're usually ten times tastier than what you can be served in "ethnic restaurants" elsewhere.

I hope I won't start another endless post "about the sex of the angels"... (very common French saying referring to one of the reasons of the split between the orthodox church and the catholic church, endless debate on a topic that never reaches consensus)

Congratulations, you are now 3rd on my ignore list. Can't be doing with this load of bollocks and I'm not missing anything regarding your trees.
