A Couple Of New Pots

Wow! I had no idea it took so long... Do you have your own kiln, or are you using one at a local school/ studio somewhere?

Thanks for the info!

Thank goodness bonsai taught me some patience... I do my work at a local studio called Mudfire. It is owned by two amazing girls that are walking encyclopedias for ceramics. They mix their own glazes and fire electric, gas and raku kilns, and a soda kiln is being built as we speak. I'm really looking forward to soda firings! Onward and upward, right? I feel I will one day build myself a studio at home, but baby steps to the win. Thanks for your interest...

I built a cheap light box to provide better photos... Come see most of these pots live and in the flesh this weekend at The Winter Silhouette Show in Kannapolis, NC!

Octopots in the light box...
What are the odds, I was just thinking about making an octopus accent pot a few days ago. I got a bunch of clay for free and I've been making some test pots. Testing textures, shapes, techniques, etc...

So far I have come to the conclusion sponges and fine sanding blocks are extremely useful for slab built pots.

What cone?

Here are the last from the kiln going to Kannapolis this weekend. I hope to see and meet many of you there.

Hey Eli, looking good!!
If anybody ends up in Kannapolis....do yourself a favor and check out Eli's booth.
I picked this one up last weekend.
The old lady went to Europe for a week over Thanksgiving while I watched Macjr. Paris too.....
And I ended up with a ELI....fair enough, for now....;)

Thanks Lance!!! I really liked that pot and almost kept it for myself. I hope you enjoy it for years to complete me! FYI, that signature is retired...

As the thread title suggests, a couple of new pots. Both of these were gas fired...

Looks like your really dialing in your glazes!!

I personaly don't like the square drainage holes. They look a bit large and as an "end user", that means more screen and more wire.
Hopefully in the future you have a chance to ship some more up to Bonsai West. I think I scooped up most of them from your first delivery!

Have a healthy and prosperous New Year!!
