Anyone have pictures of empty grow out boxes they can share? I'm especially interested in seeing the bottoms.
I need to make a few and am not sure how to approach the bottoms.

Sorry... I only have pics of the sides. You can see that their are wooden supports screwed to the side walls and I stapled hardware cloth to cover the gaps, followed by window screen.

This is one I made a while back out of scrap pine and some window screen. The notches in the bottom slats were already there in the scrap wood. It has been in use for three seasons so far but it is starting to show it's age.

I have also used old treated deck boards. They held up well but were heavy. I'm also not sure how the chemicals in the wood effect growth. The boards were out in the weather for years before I used them. I would imagine most of the easily washed away "bad stuff" was gone already.

Fwiw, I've used pressure tx'd wood right out of the big box store lumber dept and have seen no ill effects.

something changed with imgur/ bnut, and it is really really annoying. the photos must be uploaded as public to imgur to post them here without a direct link. no way to do it other than upload them as public and all those stupid fucking imgur people comment on my shit.

I just took this with my cell phone. Reply to the thread, and hit the "camera" button at the top of the message editing window. It will give you the choice of using a file from your media gallery here on BonsaiNut, or you can chose the option to "upload a file" and it will allow you to snap a pic with your camera and upload it directly into the thread.

Don't forget the media gallery here at BonsaiNut. You can store your photos and have complete control over who can see them, you can turn on or off public viewing and/or commenting, etc.

Seriously, I copied and pasted the photo url from another thread here on Bnut...

Can you post the URL here? I would like to see it....

When I go into your post (as an admin) there is nothing there - no links or image - nothing. I would like to try to figure out what's going on.

I will clean all these system messages up after we are done so we don't derail this thread.

Thanks guys, this gives me some ideas. Does the window screen hold up pretty well if you need to move the boxes?

I can only see Bnuts and walters pics too, this isn't the only thread that I have issues seeing pics in.

I wouldn't think the window screen alone is sturdy enough, so I that's why I use the hardware cloth first.
