What most people don't know is that the testicle was worth as much as the pelt. Into the 50's. Sounds crazy? Thus the french name for beaver. Castor. People were lathering themselves up with it to attract a mate? Then the pope declaired it a fish so the voyageurs could eat them with a clean concience
Not the testicles, but the castor glands. The castor is still very expensive and they use in perfumes. Hahahahaha

My guess is the Cajun gets the beaver skinned and gutted with meat in the cooler before getting into the car.
True dat but the real difference is in the idiot check and balance system. For every crazy Boudreaux there is a crazy like a fox Thibodeaux to protect him.

The beavers in my area have made some pretty nice yamadori material. Its nice that they do all the trunk chopping ahead of time. Wish they had a better eye for primary branch selection though
Casualty so far:
18 BCs chopped.
1 beaver capped. One gator had a good meal.
