We booked the whole weekend. If people are still interested book directly with the hotel because they have run out of the $105 per night special rate and if you use the reservation line they overcharge you. We got a rate for $99 a night.

It'd be great if you could sneak some time to head over. I'm flying down from Canada for it and am pretty much on a bonsai island up here - it'd be great to meet some fellow Bonsai Nuts at the event!

Stopped by during my lunch break. Talked to @markyscott for a couple minutes. Saw @MACH5 walking around the vendor area. He is too intimidating to approach so I have to take a picture from afar.

Met one of our own at the show. He has a nursery that has many Vietnamese bonsai favorite trees - Wrightia, Desmodium, Ixora, Nguyet Que. He is in Manvel TX which is close to Pearland. Might pay him a visit someday.

Glad to hear, I have an office maybe 30 mins from there.
How did the vendor area look for decent trees? Considering dragging my two daughters down in the morning, but it's an hour drive each way...

There are plenty of trees and pots for sale at reasonable price. I didn't need any more tree or pot so I didn't buy any. That is a win for me for today. I will be back tomorrow to pick up a special tree that I asked one of the vendor to bring for me.
I think the trees they displayed this time are very nice... but I started to think some are just too perfect for my liking. They look almost plastic to me. That's just my personal taste.
I think it worth a trip.

Geeked out and splurged on some Byron Myrick in the vendor area, and discovered Tree and Clay who has some really cool glazes!

This maple is excellent! It did not take much for Bjorn, Min Hsuan Lo and myself to agree to give this tree the top deciduous award.
