For moving it. Can't you break it down in Situ?

On second thought, for 100$ I would buy it and look at them all as long term projects. Low chops, layers and ground growing some ‘taters.

But I wouldnt do it there.

OK, a lot of work. Too large to handle as is. Not a great piece of material right now. Long term project and in need of a complete rebuild, including several large cuts. So.. decided

I made the seller an offer he can refuse. If he takes it, will pick up the forest. If he thinks it is too low, he can keep it. :).
If I pick it up, I will take it apart. Use the three trees on the left as individual trees, maybe put the 2 thick ones together. The rest of the trees in a much smaller forest planting. Over summer decide whether I keep all, or sell some of it off.

He did not refuse and even suggested that if it was too large, we could split it into two pieces right there. So off I went.
Left the pot with him for a friend and got a real good deal.

I knew it from the beginning.
Congrats.

But arent you worried about the tree 'dying' back and nothing more than a stub remaining;):D

As expected, little material to be great soon. And the roots were not all that either..

great in a forest setting, but as you are breaking it all up and finding individual treasure the overall effect will be less.
in this case you could probably find pieces that you could wedge even closer together, to make a twin trunked tree or triple trunked tree here n there as long as they compliment each other.
