It was suggested in another category that I might get more response here about the does and don'ts of working with this tree. So hopefully I might run across someone with some hands on experience with them.

I'm interested in featuring a tokonoma display on americn indians from the NW, where most of their existence revolved aroind this tree. Their canoes, lodges, basketry etc.

I'm doing well with a red cedar, so if you've done both and can point out any differences, it would be appreciated.

Hi Dick,
You have folks around you that have had success with them....Dan R., Will (Grouper52), Victrinia Ensor, her husband Eric. I've grown mine like I do the R.C. but I have heard that there is a difference of opinion on how to tackle the foliage. Here are two examples from our small show back in 2013.....they belong to two different club members who treat them similar in cultivation.
