Wulfskaar's Bald Cypress

Are the cycles as severe in Cali as they are in the North?
 
We have them up here in Michigan! There are lots of Dawn Redwoods too.
 
Oh. Being a southern tree, I think it does quite well here since we have mild winters, as long as I keep it watered.
I post this pic all the time when people ask if BC can take climates out of the southern U.S. the BC in the middle of the photo was originally collected in the Achafalaya swamp in Louisiana. That was 30 years ago. I’ve overwintered outside under mulch for all those winters. Snow cold (not arctic cold) are part of its life. It is very hardy if allowed to acclimate with fall frosts and shallow freezes

My two are getting exposed to this now. Still waiting for the snow!

Yes, I have seen that pic. :cool:

Before last year, I thought it would be too warm and dry here for a BC. Seems they are fantastic trees that can thrive in different environments.
