I have several on my property I may cut down for another project. They are around 2 inches in diameter. Would these take to air layering if I wanted some nice section of them before cutting?
Thank you
I am just learning and have some Japanese maples with my first tries in progress. So I
may give these a few weeks to see how they are progressing before attempting more. They have some very nice movement about 5 to 6 feet off the ground.
I have done it successfully, but they are so vigorous that most just callused over and didn't even budge. At the advice of a more experienced person, I tried right at bud break and that's how I had success.
