I keep a roll of flex wrap, the kind used after a blood draw. I saw my teacher crack a very delicate branch on a miniature Barbados cherry, a very difficult tree to wire. After it cracked he wrapped it with a small strip cut from the roll and after a month or more it had fused back together. I've cracked larger branches on trees and used the wrap and left it on for as long as six months and the branch always fuses.
