What tools do you need?

When I started out I bought a cheap set for around that 70$ cost. I've found that as I have dived deeper and deeper into the wilderness I been buying higher quality stainless and high quality carbon steel tools. I find it wise to spend more once to buy tools once in your lifetime then keep buying them every couple years. It hurts at first but it's a wiser investment. Also I pretty sure bonsaibark has good quality stuff for good prices

I agree, for the most part, Giga. I think that for most, it's best to buy cheap tools. This is because most beginners will not stick with the hobby. They also will not truly understand how to do the work without the proper tools, so, a beginner set is best. Now, if you decide, as I have, to stick with it, the cheap tools should be replaced with good quality stuff, like the items the OP sells.

spend the most amount on buying a good:
- concave cutter
- round knob cutter

maybe pliers and a good wire cutter with the round tip that don't cut the bark.

Max, I agree. I also think it best to get the basics of the best quality you can afford.

I started out with a few quality Kaneshin tools purchased directly. The service, follow up and attention to detail was great.

What do others on this forum consider the "essential" tools for beginners that are starting to get serious about Bonsai?
