What to buy your bonsai enthusiast for Christmas!

Thats what was in the box?

If it was did it come by train?

It came root-wrapped; I potted it.
USPS, 2 days from CA to AL.

Shimpaku? Whatever it is, it's an incredible tree!

I been eyeballing one of those as well..... tho elms are a lot of work :P

They really are incredible specimen trees. I don't think the pictures on Brent's website do them justice (no offense to Brent's photography skills). They might be a lot of work, but these are one of a kind trees that you won't find elsewhere in this country.

Merry Christmas! How did your bride even know this was available? I've never seen these on his specimen page. Enjoy!!

Yep, shimpaku; it has a neat history and I'll start a thread at some point, maybe Brent will contribute (hint hint).
And I think he has lots of goodies that aren't on his website...all you have to do is ask. ;)

I have been tempted often to ask. Especially when his site reads. "SPECIMEN PLANTS AVAILABLE EVENTUALLY"
Thanks for sharing, that thing is monstrous. That or that youngster is on the small side.
