What did you do today? Show us Pic Required

Got these two Gardenia's I picked up at Menard's last weekend into acrylic training pots. I trimmed back the leggy branches because I know they back bud reliably. I only took before photos because my son had a car emergency in the middle of it. (his dad took care of it) So, only before photos but I did stuff!menards.jpgmenards gard.jpg

I was turned down when I sent him a photo of the tree I wanted it for. I was told it wasn't bonsai...🤬
So.. What tree did you want to put in this pot by Erik Krisovenski?

What is with the quotes around artist?

Been cleaning up my larger ittoigawa juniper, and looking for backbuds in the crown.

looked at styling options for my RMJ and decided it’d be fun to sketch a (potential) aspirational vision for it. proportions were a bit off but that’s what you get when eyeballing. no sumi ink here, just a black pen and a bit of wet paper towel to smudge shading

Cleaned up the old homestead to prepare for listing. One truck load of small brushes, 3 30 gal bags of debris (broken glass, lumber, and nails). Weed whacked around trees and mowed 6 acres
I am exhausted.

I used to just need a nap after a 12 hr working day. Well, it took 10 hours to recover a day working outside in 96 deg F 90% humidity.

I wanted to use my Itoigawa juniper but he took offense at it not being worthy of the pot... I like his work so I'll be looking for a tree to better suit the pot at two upcoming shows...

Maybe I wll find energy later this week to add a bit of wire here and there.
Suck it up and just do it already! (now just deadwood work and wait. (And clean out more dead needles, maybe.. ). I really dislike working this tree, which is why more than a year I have not been working the foliage. Hence, very scruffy now.

Spent the last few days organize trees so the water helper can water them while we are away for a short R&R. The summer heat is here probably until October. I completely understand what you talking about.

I can't handle the heat any more either nor hours of working on something that requires physical work. Spent 5 hours yesterday in the heat doing a major, thorough house cleaning, moving furniture to get behind/underneath in addition to the normal vacuuming and dusting.

I was hot and felt disgusting when I finally quit. I fell asleep on my chair after dinner. Slept like a rock when I did go to bed. I was stiff and sore this morning.

Need to learn to pace myself and do a little every night instead of trying to do it all in one day.

House looks nice though. :)
