Hitched the trailer up for a planned collection tomorrow from a construction site. Its going to be cold but Im going for it anyway - otherwise the material will just be discarded at some other point.



Have some spare backfill soil. Need to load the wheelbarrow, shovel, and saw in the morning. Charging two batteries tonight to be prepared. Hoping for a quick collection and to get it home by mid-morning. My wife is watching her work ticker though - she may get called in and everything pushed to Sunday.

I gently slip potted my new blue spruce into something a little larger winter home.

Went for 1 came home with two... Hoping they make it! They both had a decent amount of finer roots and 1 single large tap root.

Went down to 26 degrees F here last night and temps for the next few nights going down as low as 21.
Started moving deciduous trees, azaleas and chojubai into the cold frame. Did some light pruning on some that needed it along the way.
No pictures, sorry. I was trying to get as much done today as I could so didnt have time to take pictures.

This one looks Ok from 2 sides so I still have not made a final decision on what side to use.

Finished my basement watering reserviour. Works great!!!! Got my house humdifier working at the same time.

Unicorn tea cup and float valve lol.


Measureing for proper sized whole in reservoir.


Float valve installed as high in reservoir as possible. With the 1/4" tubing attached and saddle valve opened...


When the reservoir is full, The float valve shuts.

Realized that I accidentally plugged my aeroponic propagator into the powerstrip that's on the light timer so the pump has been off every night for two weeks. I checked the roots and everything is still okay but the roots are little longer than expected. This one was due for a pot up.


And it's been really cold. I forgot some azalea cuttings out in the greenhouse, poor guys. So had to bring those into the basement. Hope a few survive.

Going up to the very peak of Fansipan Vietnam. So many trees that look like bonsai.

Bonsai outside a coffeehouse. So so but there definitely an intent to make bonsai.

Would love to show some bonsai work here with all the amazing projects you all have shown. Instead we flew into Koror, Palau, hit the hot tub - sat by the pool and my best half struck a pose during sunset.

I helped a Woolly worm find his way today. He was lost on my stack of lumber so I escorted him to a nice chunky poplar tree.
