What cases / when is it right, aesthetically-speaking, to ignore the rule of "angle the tree toward the viewer"?

Tight....super tight.

You wouldn't recognize me right now. Lost 55 pounds in 60 days. Still going down. Last time I was at this weight was in 1997.
Well, losing weight is a good thing. Starving yourself isn’t.

I lost 60 lbs last summer, a little slower than you. But overall, it’s been a good thing for me.

Maybe you should set up a small aquarium. Give yourself something new to think about. A fresh interest.

I’ve set up a koi pond that I’ve found to be immensely enjoyable. You don’t have to go that “all in”, but I think an aquarium could help with state-of-mind.

Oh I'm in control. Not starving, just not hungry. I eat. but I eat the right things, being a diabetic and watching what diabetes did to her, I have decided to change my whole life style. It is for the good.

I lost my weight basicly doing keto. Not really “strict” keto, just avoiding sugar, bread, starches, etc. And beer. (Unfortunately!).

I have friends who are successful doing the “intermittent fasting” thing where they don’t have any diet restrictions, they just limit when they eat to an 8 or 6 window each day.

We still try to eat the right foods... just not all the time:cool:.

I've lost 15 pounds in the last 9 months doing the 16 hour fast and am the lightest I've been since junior year of college.

I don't eat....my heads just not in the game. Since Rosie died last week I haven't eatin five meals.
Oh man...sorry to hear this news, @Smoke.

I am glad to hear you and others are losing weight, though. I've been fortunate to not have had issues with weight...I could stand to lose 5 or maybe 10 pounds and I did during the winter, but I've been guilty of "covid eating" for the past few months. You know, "we're all going to die anyway and we're just sitting around the house so may as well have another bag of m&,m's". Sugar is definitely the toughest thing for me to cut back on.

@Dav4, that is definitely one of the "right" foods! I'll give up a lot before I give up pizza. The beer I can take or leave.

Beer is proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy! You cannot give up beer! Lmao

I lost 25lbs and have kept it off for years by eating low-carb. You can still drink beer, it's just what @Dav4 calls "crap beer".:D

Oh, I know. There’s a “Bud Select 55” with 55 calories. Really low carbs. I like lite beer.

My mother in law was diabetic and did very little to counteract it, even to the point that she hid chocolate bars from my wife (who went over to help her clean). The disease made her lose half her leg (amputated), she went blind and vascular dementia robbed her of speech, rational thought and independence. Please do all you possibly can to rid yourself of this terrible disease, Al, including some exercise if that's possible. I use a spin bike to burn calories - it's convenient, relatively cheap and non impact. Set yourself little goals, like going down a thong size every month 👍😳. Stay safe and stick with it.

My dad lost both legs above the knee from diabetes and ended up dying less than 2 months later from pneumonia. They say it skips a generation, but my grandpa, dad and uncle all had it. I try to eat healthy, watch my weight and exercise some. Luckily, I don't like sweets so avoiding sugar is easy.

This thread has jumped off the rails!

There's only so much that can be said about forward leaning trees, and I think it's all been said - multiple times!
Yeah, I think some people just read the first couple of posts, then skip to the end to make a comment without reading the whole thing. So, it starts over.

What was this thread about?

You using a lightsabre to prune your trees?

Didn't make it through all 19 pages, but I wanted to propose another anthropomorphic perspective on why the top leaning forward might imply old age...
