I just noticed these orange spots on some of my apple tree. It looks kinda bumpy from the surface but I cannot rub it out.
I actually pinched some out from the leaves. Nothing on underside thought. And some of the leaves have gotten yellow blotches and falling off as well.

I just started planting anything earlier this year so I have no clue what this might be.
Thought I over/under watered it to cause the yellowing.
It's in a colander in oil dry and I water it every day when sunny and warm or other day when not sunny/warm.

Anybody know what this is? TIA

Thanks for the help guys! :):):)

Gotta get me some of those tomorrow.

Do this cause some of the smaller leaves to get yellow and fall off? I thought it might have been water or fert related.

Sorry for the ugly nails...o_O

lots of leaves inside the canopy will get this way following rampant growth

That's where they're located; inside the canopy. Thanks for the reassurance LanceMac10!

Thanks Vin for the link! Keeping trees healthy isn't as easy as I thought but I find quite enjoyable.

Remove the affected leaves, spray, and keep the apple away from your junipers.
I've never seen it on Shimpaku, but ERC and RMJ are particularly susceptible.

@M. Frary what can I use to make it look like an accident?
Seriously.

Just ease it to the edge of the window. A little push.
Call him the last of the jumpers.
Or when you move to the new place accidently sit it on the driveway and run it over.

Lol!

Real ones...in this rented garden....

Full of aphids.

I think I'll let my kids just pound on em with the Baseball bat. A lot!

But I want to inject something in them too!

Yes, remove them before you spray. Copper fungicide works, use as directed. In the Fall as it goes dormant treat it and again in the Spring. Cedar rust is common in these parts and I have seen it spread to other plants, even Roses.

With prunus/malus/pyrus and the like you should have a good regime with preventative treatments. They are a magnet for all kinds of nasties. I use a systematic in mid to late spring, then a good copper based fungicide. Depending on how the summer goes I may or may not treat again - just watch each tree and you'll know if you see first sign of anything. Then in fall I treat everything again with a dormancy spray.

WTF BrianVF! How the hell you know I have a Juniper(I think it's juniper)? My job is about to dig to make foundation and I though I'll be nice and try to save this little thing. Now they're making each other sick?

And WTF Grimmy! I bought a little rose bush for my neighbor, but it's still in my care. I don't see any signs of rust so my fingers are crossed it's not infected yet. And just prayed it with fungicide too. Would hate to give her a sick bush.

Oh, I think the Juniper(?) is dying since I collected it kinda off season.

Thanks for the tips Giga! Very much appreciate it. This will be a yearly routine from now on...
