What’s your latest Bonsai related purchase?

Ishida Shoseki(1925-2005) Reknown for her hand painted and glazed mame and shohin pots.Stunning hexagonal cinnabar glazed pot with white accents.This is a vintage pot,Master Artist hand signature on the bottom (2 Shoseki production pots included)All pots by Ishida are highly collectible,deceased over 20yrs prior.

Dimensions:
Shohin: 3.0”x 3.0”
Mame: 2.0”x 1.25”




Also... an elm mother/daughter...two trunk pair... Because...I'm curious about it. I also love elm...and I have a vision for it.

I see it planted on possibly an Erin tray I have off to the right. I think the glaze is a subtle compliment to the bark. *Now I've had the tray.

Well...I totally blundered there. I didn't intend to hit enter but come back and finish my thoughts.

The rabbit pots... are a nod to the time we here used to toss down the "PEACE POT" when threads got out of hand. Anyone remember it? Every time Mike Lane shares his wee bunny pots. I think of that period of time on B-Nut. So I decided to get a pot with a rabbit. That and that Mai Bonsai threw down an emoji...and he's a pot guy. Made it an easy sell.

The tree next to the pot I am pondering. Again an Erin. As I love his glazed.

I had fun cleaning the trunks of my junipers, so I got a few proper Kaneshin brushes for them after struggling with a random aluminum brush I had laying around. Also some fertilizer baskets cause I can’t find the rest of mine after my move.

Received 2 arakawa air layers from @Tidal Bonsai . Was a little worried as USPS moved the tree from out for delivery to arrived at San Antonio mid day Thursday. But showed as out for delivery again Friday mid day. They look very healthy and were moved into dappled shade probably for the reminder of the season. Don’t want to shock them too much with the Texas sun after coming from up north.

A Montana Moss juniper... I bought some plants for a customer of mine and picked this up at the same time...

Planted it straight in the ground. Will give it 3 or 4 years to grow out while taking cuttings/air layers.

I had been staying away from JM, as I didn't have a good overwintering plan for them - but I did a workshop at Bonsai West this year, and came home with a Sharp's and will build a decent cold frame this year. Soooo...

9.5x3.5 inches inside measurements... a lovely Bob Hunter/Broken Branch Pottery pot. I'm thinking that new crepe will look delicious in it come 2025 repot.

bought a boring regular old tokoname number 6 grow pot and a bag of biogold (hoping the biogold remains pretty scentless as I'm gonna put some on my indoor-wintering ficus, otherwise might have to switch it to osmocote)

ahhh that's rough, this is only going on the inside tree for now, i've got some homemade organic stuff but it reeks so that's reserved for the permanently outside trees
