Hey all,

I'm on the hunt for some larger stock Ficus. I'm posting here in hopes that one of my friends here will be able to help me out with obtaining some nice fat stock from one of the nurseries down south. I've downsized my collection quite a bit and am trying to just focus on large stock that won't take forever to fatten in my somewhat cold, northern environment.

I've tried Wigerts, nothing with a decent trunk and isn't overpriced. I've tried contacting Jim Smith and his nursery, but to no avail. Believe me, I've tried just about any commercial place that I can. Anyone here willing to hook me up :p

Thanks!

Define fat...a number (diameter maybe) would be a good start. ;)

Wow, how I forgot to add that I'll never know

I'm looking for at least 2.5-3 inches plus. My friend down south sold me that big one with a 7 inch trunk for $120, but I don't think I'll ever find a deal like that again ;)

That's what I keep hearing! I just have no idea where they are down there and it doesn't look like they have a website. I hear they're a bit pricey too...

You can find Bob and Todd on google maps. There was ONE tricky turn that rockm (where in the hell has rockm been?) helped me find. I have been there twice this year and I have to tell you, since they are getting less and less into the bonsai business, their prices seem very fair. In fact, we noted that their tropicals seemed underpriced at times. If I was into ficus, I would have been tempted. They have some good sized Bougies also. They certainly have larger stock. And they're just really nice guys.

Thank you!

I spoke to another member here who's been there and can vouch for how impressive their trees are. However he mentioned that their trees are mostly finished trees with hefty price tags. I'm looking for some raw untrained material.
