Ugly trees.

I know I'm a little late but here's my ugly three .
Im really not sure what direction to take with it. I'm just hoping to bring it back to life .
It was in one of my clients flower beds that have drainage issues & it had horrible root rot so I got it out of there and in a pot .
It has just a couple of pops on it

I've had both, and I always preferred the kinnikinnick - more compact, at least the stuff I've run across. I think both have great potential though, with the right tree. Do you work with either one, and are they posted here?

Never had but hope to. Have seen Greg Brendans on here or his blog and talked to at PacNW Bonsai Convention last fall. For the future.

I was thinking the same thing but wasn't sure if I should say anything HAHA!!!

Here is an ugly tree with potential!
Trident! I want to sell it, got way way to many trees this season.
This Trident is in an 18"X 14" mica oval, trunk is fatter than 5"

I think I may have found a serious contenda. This spirea use daily to be fairly attractive as a sort of sumo. But last fall in a depressed mood I started picking mindlessly at all the dead wood at the base and before I knew what I was doing, as they say in France - voila, Ugly.

So a repotting lower, 180 spin, and some pruning and we go from ugly to a ‘characterful’ semi-cascade.
