Ugly trees.

This is my first time seeing this thread.
I love it.

After looking at the first couple pages of trees, I am very humbled.

So many of the trees I’m working on currently make those trees look like Jessica Alba. Or maybe George Clooney. 🤣

Look out. Photos to come.

Same. We'll put some real ugly on this thread. Ever go get trees out of your 'needs to just grow out' area and don't even recognize where you were going with it? No idea WHY this was pruned like THAT. Far too often.

I like it. How many times have you considered removing that aerial root/layered branch on the bottom right?
Never! That's part of its character.
I bought the tree like this, but I assume it was dug out of a rock crevice somewhere. My only plan is to keep it small and work on fine branch structure.

I like it too but man it’s tempting.

I was this many years old when I found out I could post all my trees in one thread. :) Ugly trees is the nickname my teacher gave me. I got a Buxus microphylla compacta from Evergreen garden works (no blame on EG). This is what I got.

Recently on another forum I was told this tree was worthless due to how ugly it is. That's a paraphrase but true to the sentiment.

David Lee Roth, explained Wabi Sabi in part, as being when something "is perfect due to its being a little fu*ked up."
