Trouble with Hinoki cypress

Hello, I’ve had this hinoki cypress for about a month. I live in southern Florida, I had this in direct sun and it was getting in the high 80’s low 90’s. I have since brought it in under a screen house that offers less intense sun and heat. Is this dark brown just burnt from the sun ? I am also getting lighter green areas on branches. Any help or pointers is appreciated.

It was an eager second bonsai purchase. I will do my best to keep it alive and shift to tropical trees. Source I see you post here a lot, can I ask you when you get a new tree do you try to get it in “bonsai” soil right away without root pruning or do you wait for the spring. I have a couple trees all different soil as you can imagine pain to water.
Thanks

There is an appropriate time to repot. For most trees it's late-winter or early-spring. Tropicals are usually repotted when they're actively growing.

If I remember right, Rick Moquin was from Canada-ish. Also,

"I do not purchase trees out of season. I try to acquire new material before the end of June, for my climate. If I acquire material past this time line, it remains in the pot until the following spring. No work is being conducted on the tree until then, with the exception of removing branches I know I will not need, to allow light to the inner foliage."

Ahh I guess I read what I wanted to hear and ran ! Thank you for saving my trees life, time to slow down and follow the process. Thanks
