Tommy's trees

MMMM, yummy. What color are the newly opening leaves?
They are a lighter green and kinda hairy, then turn a little darker, in fall they turned yellowish bronze and then brown, i removed them quite early after colourchange last year.

More great trees! I love ezo, they are special to see in my part of the world. Jrp and beech are beauties too!

All great trees. You have very good sensitivity and vision. The detail is great and the lines are clearly carefully considered. All very delicate, feminine, and full of grace. A man after my own heart.

Thanx for the nice comment, i think the detail needs a lot of improvement but yes, i do prefer more feminine trees, they give me a more calming feeling.

Ah, I was hoping that you got the sort of coloration that I get on one of my beech. It's exquisite. I thought that this at first was Japanese Beech but turns out it's European Red leaf beech.
Your tree is a good one.

That does look very nice, the leaves on mine are more plain green.

Ezo spruce I just planted on a rock, my original plan was to use a round pot and plant is as @Vance Wood suggested but well, somehow I didn’t come across a pot I liked for this and I had this rock already. Tree itself needs some adjustments but I’m a leave it for now, I had to remove a little more roots then I really wanted but I think it’ll be ok.

You've got to go take bonsai to Daiba City. We could have the giant Gundam in background of your bonsai. ?

Love this....

But...

I want to see the tree go left.

Rocks, slabs, etc....are very "suggesting" IMO...
The slopes of this rock suggest there is more mountain to the right where this tree is growing. So it seems odd for the tree to be growing that direction.

Also...with no indication of wind, or other purpose for the left side to be dead....it seems all the negative space on the left is a great place for that tree to be growing....
The "gentle" of that slope indicates a peaceful, sunny place, where the tree should want to grow.

A simple, polite, "it doesn't make sense"...?
Which....FYI.....is very different from..."it is uncomfortable".

I don't really see a "remedy", "remedy" because only "I" feel its "necessary" to ...
"Come up with one"....

Because a "lightning strike" to give reason to the dead left side will only serve to enhance what I feel is too much negative space on the left already.

So what if you do not mean to "suggest" anything.

If we remove "suggestions"....
As to say....
"I dont mean to suggest more mountain anywhere, it is just a rock planting".

Then we should default to following the directionality of the rock...which alone, also suggests tree to the left.

Of course......this is only IMO...and there is so much I don't know....and I got mad respect for your art especially.
So I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this planting.
