What about the 2023 Ohio train derailment in East Palestine
The government dragged their feet on this one.

I agree the accident is horrible. The economic impact will be huge. Regardless of who paying for it, the speed will be the same. My point is the government is already drown in debt and this is an accident caused by a big corporation so they will have to put the bill. I just don't see the argument because it has an big impact on economy, we the tax payers have to pay for it.
Am sure there will be some insurance money contribute to the rebuilding but for someone to come out and said the government will pay for it is .... not making much sense to me.

Agree this is horrible. However our government steals plenty of money from us Americans every year….. they just need to stop spending it like morons and they’ll have plenty of money for stuff like this. Hate to say it but it’s truth.I agree the accident is horrible. The economic impact will be huge. Regardless of who paying for it, the speed will be the same. The quick response by the current government in power, they waited almost a year to show up and make a photo opWhat does that have to do with the bridge collapse at the Baltimore Harbor? They're entirely different circumstances. It's like comparing Japanese maple and black pine. You can't treat them the same way.
Me too.Horrific. I already had a bit of a phobia about bridges.
I agree, but you can’t deny the response to the two events.
One in the back yard of the government in power and the other in the rust belt, poor voters that don’t support the current government.
Just my opinion
That’s your opinionShoe meet horn. You are wrong. Stop trying to put politics into this tragedy. It’s not comparable. A train derailment and the elimination of one of Americas biggest ports isn’t the same thing.
2023 wasn’t an election year…. Sad…but it’s the reality we live with…What about the 2023 Ohio train derailment in East Palestine

Agreed! X and FB will gladly take all of your opinions. This is a bonsai forum that should be free of politics.I don't think it's appropriate to make this a political discussion.
In all fairness, I don’t see that as being about tax dollars. I see that as the thinking that less lives will be lost and affected if the tax monies are well placed. However, disasters like this are the rare events that will happen at times. We must do our best to prevent them, but they will happen. For now, I will offer my prayers for the affected and set aside any political thinking.People lost their lives and their loved ones in this tragedy, and some of you folks are worried about tax dollars? Wow……
Of course it was a political statement. Decisions what tax payers'money are spent or is politics. My comment wasn't politic at all. I would have said the same thing if the republican or any other rainbow color is in charge of the White House making that kind of comment.
