Just a young Beech tree from an air layer separated a few weeks ago. Very happy with its progress so far...

Beech layer easily?

Variegated Japanese boxwood that I created from a groundlayer, it was separated a year ago. I'm letting the roots grow in the box, it's planted in pure pumice.
The clump has 5 trunks, kinda hard to see in this photo.

Beech layer easily?

They can be stubborn, but will readily produce roots if healthy n vigorous..
This one was layered early in the season and hasn't produced any to date, I feel it was a bit weak though and took a while for some of the branches to get going. There has since been growth on every branch, it should be a lot stronger next season
