The Rosemary Thread

A real beauty! The 3rd image seems to capture all the qualities the tree offers. Live vein, deadwood, twisted trunk, decent base (for rosemary) and branch structure. I'm not a fan of the container though. But, that's just my opinion.

My thoughts as well. I like the nanban style but it’s a little large. I’m afraid to go smaller as we have discussed about small pots and rosemary. It’s been in there since 2016 without a repot and I aim to keep it that way.

I feel you brother! Kind of like a wife, if they're happy then your happy. ;) Last year one of my potted rosemary was nearly dead, again from being in too small of a pot. I put it in the ground and it's unrecognizable now. Super healthy and full of new foliage. I'll leave it for this year and try putting it a container again next year. Maybe I should go wide instead of deep and see how it responds?

I'm making a stand for the big one to hide the bottom half of the pot......is that cheating???

The one in #1 and 82 is absolutely beautiful! Looks spectacular when it's flowering! Lovely!

This a pot I made for it last winter. 9" X 9" X 7" ID. Not sure about going to a smaller pot. Might be a little to busy.
Did you thicken the trunks in the ground? or they thickened in the bonsai pot over time?

They are all container grown from cuttings. My climate doesn’t allow ground growing.

Mine started out like that....patience, patience. That one looks like an upright variety, although it can be hard to tell when they're babies. Did it have a name tag?
