The Car Thread

I have had no time at all to do any research due to a couple employees calling out today. I did speak with a couple of my shops and none of them had any quick ideas. But they were going to try and do some research and get back to me if they find out anything.

I'll let you know any info I can get before you are able to get it into the shop. Good to know you have a warranty Mercedes are expensive cars to repair.
Thanks @Moridin I appreciate it!
I looked at one video of similar setup and looks a bit daunting for me to remove the motor
but there's also appears to be a resistor under under the cover to the wiper motor.
I hate to replace both relays and still not be the problem and go to shop anyway.

Ya know, one thing I have to say about the Mercedes, my wife traded a 2007 Camry
for a used 2013 GLK 350 before this car and her insurance made a notable drop in premium :)
Another thing, we noticed trading the Toyota, was after a 12 hour trip, driving the Mercedes
we had a lot less road fatigue. Used to big block engines the engine certainly could be a lot more beefy.

@Japonicus So no real concrete information from my Euro shops but most seem to think the motor may have burned out when the debris got lodged, It's difficult to diagnose a problem like this without the car in front of you. All of them agreed that if you have a warranty take it in and just say it stopped working with no explanation so there will be no issue with warranty coverage. You paid enough for the car let Mercedes pay for it. :p

They are great ride but I'll take my Toyotas everyday over them for reliability, Toyotas are all that I own you can beat them to death and they still keep going.

Gotchya! On the warranty mention, thanks for taking the time and asking about.
I'm on my 2nd Tundra. I put 3 or 4 coats of liquid glass on it new, and to date has
gone at least 2 years without a washing and looks great amid so much salt spray in Winter.
MB's a better road trip though ;) Will lets know what they do tomorrow. Not sure how we're going to
exercise the warranty having bought it out of state, getting the paperwork ready now.
Will have to fill ya in on a funny story or two about this out of town deal and local service later.

So that Gasket I replaced....

May not have needed it, I think when I replaced the top side gaskets, the better pressure blew the old pressure sensor, it been leaking since. Stayed leaking.

In my research, another 04 Liberty with within 1k of my 130k had a bad sensor too...so moral? Sell em the pressure sensor with any other gaskets, seal em all!

Fixed that and 3 days later my water pump blew!

Replaced it, the Thermostat, and the Radiator, found why my reservoir was leaking when I broke the rest of the feed connection, replaced the reservoir.

Went from 13 to 18 MPG!

Going to Frigging Georgia this Summer for Baseball! 😉

Nothing like riding the Bike through snow to get car parts!

My new Motto is on 2 by 2! Bike by February!

Tell you what, I Love working on this Jeep. Hell with Import Mobiles!

Well with owning a Jeep be prepared to keep working on it. :D

Thats one thing I like about my Toyotas over Domestic vehicles. You pretty much change the oil and do regular other maintenance and they rarely have any issues. I had a '97 corolla for year that had 550k miles before I got rid of it and last I heard it was still one the road with the original motor and transmission. ;)

It seems to break right on schedule, now, if I could get the schedule figured out so I can get parts from you instead of gathering them for 2 days just to have their CC machine go down so I had to use cash, of which I had no access to so I missed a day of work...

I'd be happier!

I'm putting a Million on this Thing!

We don't ship out of the store. But if you are heading into a local Napa let me know which one and I can give them a call to see about getting anyone some employee pricing. ;)

Good guys... always give my sons cookies and toy cars.

Father & Son projects! Cars we modified and built together. mml2fc.jpegFather& Son Mar 18.jpegtrs2 003.jpegThe 240z was mine, the 280zx was my son's. Both were V8 conversions. My son's with the 327 Chevrolet and mine with the LT1 350. The Hemlock tree is the project I started when my son passed away in 2013. We were both into Bonsai as well, and both studied with Boon.

Cars were the first interest of mine before the bonsai addiction started. Now I have two hobbies that aren’t cheap...

Anyways, my first car was my Datsun 710. Still have it and currently undergoing a full restoration. Parts are a bit tricky to find for this.

This 1982 Rx7 was supposed to turn into a race car but I decided to scrap the project.

I also frequent a lot of the vintage races that happen in California and photograph them. Every once in a while I’ll get a good shot!
