The amazing art of MJ Lai (Mrs. Tokutake)

My dad has been visiting the past couple weeks and it has been very liberating and cathartic to switch my mom/housewife hat to my potter hat which I have not donned since Phoebe was born. ☺️ I’d like to paint a couple molas, and some angry sea life, frogs.

Any motif/subject suggestions? I have many pots to paint for Nationals! Thereafter I will ve vending at Shohin School in January, so put that on your calenders!

North American animals would be cool. Some random ideas that come to mind: armadillos, manatees, bison, bald eagles, northern cardinals, etc.

More recently, I've been encouraging her to apply her drawing talent to bonsai pots and I've been supplying her with porcelain pots to paint. She studies traditional Japanese painting techniques and gets all her pigments from Japan.
